Provocative profile garners

TORONTO, June 1, 2005: A compelling newspaper story about a Toronto doctor who photographs his home-care deprived senior patients to raise awareness about our ailing health-care system has earned writer Sharon Aschaiek a nomination for a Kenneth R. Wilson Award.

Aschaiek's story, called “A passionate eye on the forgotten: Physician's photos zoom in on elderly homecare,” was nominated for a Best Profile of a Person award. The story published on the cover of the Nov. 15, 2004 edition of the National Review of Medicine, a biweekly national publication for doctors about industry trends and medical issues.

Issued by the Canadian Business Press, the Kenneth R. Wilson Awards recognize excellence in business journalism and graphic design. The Canadian Business Press is a not-for-profit association that represents the interests of more than 150 Canadian business, professional and farming publications. This year marked the 51st anniversary of the annual awards.
